Providence Treatment provides individual, group, couple and family therapy for professional individuals and their families in need of education and treatment about the disease of addiction. We are aware that a person who has a substance use disorder cannot recover alone. They need the support and systemic change for themselves and their loved ones. We encourage each client to engage in some type of relationship and family therapy to ensure change throughout the family system.
Many times a client will have psychological issues and mental illness coupled with their addiction. The majority of individuals struggling with a substance use disorder have also been diagnosed with a mood, or other psychiatric conditions as well. We call this “dual diagnosed.” At Providence Treatment, we assess and treat individuals who have a dual diagnosis of a substance use disorder and other psychiatric illnesses.
Studies have shown that psychotherapy with 12-Step participation maximizes the potential of the client maintaining a long-term recovery. Some of the areas we address in psychotherapy are:
- Psychological trauma
- Relationship/Marital issues
- Family dysfunction (from family of origin or current family)
- GLBT concerns
- Grief and Loss
- Mood stabilization
- Co-dependency issues
- Much more…
