Drug and Alcohol Detoxification
Partnered with nationally recognized detox centers, Providence Treatment provides our clients with a comfortable and safe drug and alcohol detoxification experience. Upon discharge from the Philadelphia area detox center, the client is transferred to our treatment center to begin his/her continuing care.
Once admitted to our treatment center, our treatment team will conduct an initial assessment to recommend the level of treatment care needed. If our team determines that the client requires detoxification, we will arrange transportation and pre-admission for the client at a local, reputable detox center. Staff from the detoxification center will work directly with the client regarding the method of payment including in-network and out-of-network insurance coverage. The detoxification center can accepts our clients at any time because they are staffed with professional certified addiction counselors, detox technicians and professional nursing staff 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
The detoxification centers that we make referral to for our clients offer the most comfortable experience and detoxification from all substances are performed under strict medical supervision.
During alcohol detoxification, it is critical that a safe and medically monitored environment is provided to avoid any medical complications such as seizures. The first step in alcohol addiction treatment is to remove the alcohol from our client’s system, to restore clarity and to enable treatment of any underlying medical, emotional, or psychological issues supporting the addiction. Alcohol detoxification may require as little as a few days, to as long as 5 or more, depending on a number of factors including history and severity of heavy drinking, and health status.
The most common barrier to getting started with drug detoxification is fear of the pain and discomfort associated with withdrawal. Whether it’s prescription drugs, opiates and opioids, heroin, or combinations of drugs and alcohol, modern medical protocols will be used to manage the discomfort of withdrawal. Drug detoxification can range from 7 days to 14 days, depending on a number of factors including drug of choice, history, severity of use and health status.
