Comprehensive Evaluations at
Providence Treatment

Assessing whether a person has a substance use disorder requires a multimodal and comprehensive perspective on the bio-psychosocial and spiritual spheres of the client’s life. To this end, Providence Treatment conducts comprehensive evaluations for professional individuals and their families. We use these assessments to determine their addiction diagnosis and recommended treatment going forward, if any.

We utilize current theory and laboratory toxicology studies in conjunction with the patient’s narrative to determine an alcohol or drug addiction.

Comprehensive Addiction Evaluations:
Understanding the Process

Our Comprehensive Evaluations are a key service provided at Providence Treatment. Dr. Heran, our co-founder and CEO has been conducting and supervising the completion of these types of evaluations for years. We offer evaluations for DUI charges and other court related issues, workplace issues, licensed professionals and commercial pilots (SAP Evaluations).

In the course of our comprehensive addiction evaluations, the participants will meet with a clinician for a 2-3 hour clinical interview, submit to toxicology testing, offer references for collateral contacts and complete psychological testing, if needed.  With the participant’s authorization, we involve certain individuals in the process of the evaluation:

  • Family members
  • Spouses
  • Colleagues/Supervisors
  • Friends

Once we complete each client’s comprehensive evaluations, we recommend an appropriate level of care using ASAM Criteria. Some of the options are: treatment plan and level of support moving forward. This could include the following:

  • Residential Rehabilitation/Detoxification Planning
  • Partial Hospitalization
  • Intensive Outpatient
  • Executive Sober Living

We determine this by following the level of care guidelines from the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and the feedback from your Providence Treatment assessment team. For more information on our comprehensive evaluation process, call 484-469-9592.
