Professional Women and addiction

Despite studies showing that women with substance use disorders have a faster course towards severity than men with addictions, most treatment programs in the U.S. have been developed using research based solely on men.  There are inherent challenges for women seeking treatment for their addiction like: attending to childcare, managing a career and home, medical complications, trauma and psychological distress.

Re-building authenticity and personal well-being

Providence Treatment in Media, PA (just outside of Philadelphia) focuses on treating professional women with addictive disorders. We view our treatment through a lens of women’s psychology. We aim to enhance authenticity, mutuality and overall well-being. We are a 12 Step-based outpatient treatment program assisting our clients in the development of a spiritual program with other women committed to recovery.
